Passing My Classes!

After a truly grueling semester, I received the most wonderful news the other day. I PASSED ALL OF MY CLASSES! And not only that, I ended up with a GPA of 3.12! Which (while not exactly a 4.0) is fan-fucking-tastic! I am so happy, and super super proud of myself.
See, I have this problem with school. When things gets too hard, I give up. I stop caring and tell the world to go fuck itself. But the last couple of years I’ve been trying to teach myself to stick with things. Even if they’re looking impossible, it’s better to tough it out than to quit.
And you know what? It’s paying off. There were about a million times that I wanted to drop my chemistry class this semester. But I kept telling myself ‘just finish the semester’. It was possible that I would have to re-take the class anyway if I failed it. But if I dropped it, I would definitely have to re-take it. (And this was already my second time through General Chemistry II) I’m so glad I stuck with it.
Now I can head into the new semester with my head held high, super excited. I even bought all my text books already. (By the way, if you know anyone who might want a college level chemistry text book… I’m trying to get rid of mine).

In other news, some of my close friends and I have started a writing group. We meet Mondays and Thursdays online. We read and write short stories, work on our novels and generally have a good time. There is much joking around and playfulness, and a touch of seriousness. Come check us out!

I wanted to share my December reading list with you all out there in cyber-space (ugh, does anyone else still say cyber-space? No? Just me?) so here it is:
A Passage to India by E. M. Forster
White Tiger by Aravind Adiga
The Awakening by Kate Chopin
Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut
Stardust by Neil Gaiman and
Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King (if I can get my paws on a copy that won’t set me back $30)

Alright folks. Move along. Nothing to see here. Shoo! But come back later for more, okay?

I'm so proud of you. Wow girl, it sounds like you were able to break through some bad habits. That in itself is a great achievement.
    Big hugs.
