Feel Bad...

I feel really bad, I've been neglecting my blog lately. I suppose it's because I feel I don't have anything interesting to post/share.

I feel like I should have something special or fun to show people when I post something. I keep telling myself that no one wants to read about silly nonsense from my everyday life. But then I have to remind myself that I'm doing this for me, not for anyone else, and then it's okay. And then, like today, I feel bad about not posting anything...
It's an endless cycle of whining...

But I'm going to try to stop the cycle, by posting more! Yay?

Anyway, to kick off the new year (2010... when did that happen?!?) I got a new clock!

It's got The Beatles (my biggest obsession of all time) on it, and it's awesome in every way... Except that it's very very loud. So I've taken it down for now until I can switch the mechanism out for a quieter one.

But anyways, here's a picture of it:

No Country for Old Men

• Wow, it's been an entire month since I last posted. Sorry about that folks. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from the Internet, real life getting in the way and such. I'm taking Chemistry this semester, and the two of us were simply not meant for each other... Meh. What can you do?
• Anyway, I recently finished reading Cormac McCarthy's novel: No Country for Old Men I'd seen the film a while back, and when I found out that it was based on a book I wanted to read it and see what the similarities were. Now that I've finally read the book, it's been a while since I saw the movie! So if I want to look at the differences and similarities I'd have to go back and watch the movie again!
• It's a great book, but it tends to be a bit gory, like the movie. I recommend it to anyone who's interested, and if you've seen the movie, definitely check out the book!

Old Sketchys...

Wow, haven't seen some of these in a while. I dug up a sketch book I kept back in highschool and I thought I'd post some of the ones I liked. I tried to scan them, but my stupid scanner's busted. So I took pictures of them with my lame old digital camera. Enjoy!

I'm working on a painted version of the first one, but I'd really like to work with some of the others too. I'm open to ideas! - C

• Okay, I'm sorry I haven't updated lately, I've been super-busy. I had a dumb 'ole chem test and 2 labs this week...
• But anyways, a post:
• Okay, so I've been doing some reading! I know. Me, reading a book, what? I told you guys I was reading:
• Level 4: Virus Hunters of the CDC
• Well, now I've finished it. I didn't like it so much at first, it seemed choppy and hard to follow. But once I looked at it as a narritive rather than a novel (which is something I'm more used to reading) it was easier to follow. I liked it. I would recomend it to anyone interested in learin about virology, the history of viruses or treating diseases in rural Africa.
• I've also just finished reading:
• Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
• 
• I loved this book! It was recomended to me by one of my readers, and I have to say thank you very much! I really really enjoyed this one. I saw Blade Runner a few years ago, and it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me then, but the book was fantastic. I think it really had something to say about the fine line between actual human life and biotechnology.
• There was one scene in the book where the android Pris kills a spider by cutting its legs off with a pair of scissors. It really got to me. I just sat there staring at the page for a while, wondering why it bothered me so much. I've killed hundreds of spiders in my life, but I've never been that cruel.
• Anyway, I recomend this one to everyone, and thank you again to the reader who recomended it for me!
