Finished!!!!!!!!!

After more than seven months... It's all done!

It took me long enough, but I'm happy with it.

And here's a picture of my super clean, clutter free workspace:

Well, it was clean and clutter free at one point in time, just not recently...

Playing with Bones!

We're studying bones in my Anatomy & Physiology class, and so we get to play with bones! We get an assembled skull (fake), and a bone box (mostly fake). Here's the bone box:
And here's a close up of a few interesting bones; there's the mandible (jawbone), the sphenoid (a 'butterfly' shaped bone from your skull) and a few parietal bones (left and right): And finally some real bones! The big long one's a right humorous (the bone in your upper arm), the small ones are vertebrae (the one on the right is a cervical vertebrae and the one on the left is a thoracic [holds a rib] vertebrae), and the weird one with all the holes is a sacrum (5 fused vertebrae near the bottom of your spinal column): Also, happy birthday George Harrison!

Painting... Again...

I've started another painting. I'm really happy with it so far. I wasn't planning on starting anything, but inspiration struck.

I'm actually using my last piece of canvas panel (or whatever the heck it's called) for it, and I was saving that for a different project. But this needed to be painted I guess.

It's gonna be a simple clip-art style running shoe. And when it's done, I'm going to hang it on the wall by my treadmill for inspiration!

Yay!

Walking... A lot

As part of my New Year's resolution, I've been walking... a lot. I've been on the treadmill every day for the last week and a half. I know it doesn't seem like much so far, but I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it.

I started on the 4th, and I haven't missed a day yet!

Plus, I'm rollerblading for about an hour and a half every weekend (sometimes Saturday night, sometimes Sunday night) and I take a Modern Dance class on Monday nights from 7 to 8:30.

Yay me!

Plus I'm reading lots too. I'm working my way through a list of 1001 Books to Read Before You Die (but more on that in another post), and I'm re-reading this awesomely strange book called The Way of Wyrd.

Bye for now!

A little painting I started a while ago. It's just acrylic paints on canvas board, nothing fancy at all, but it makes me smile. I'm not sure why there's a screw outside in the middle of the night (with pink stars) but there is... so there! Let me know what you think, ok?

Judy and the Dream of Horses

I'm not in a great mood today. I tried exercising, and that helped, but I'm still feeling down.

So after showering I find myself sitting on the floor in front of my space heater, once again listening to Belle & Sebastian's wonderful song: Judy and the Dream of Horses

I don't know why, but this song always makes me feel better when I'm down, so I tought I'd share it in case it can help anyone else out there in cyberspace.

Studying

I got my grade for my last Anatomy and Physiology test. I got an 89% (we won't get to look over the actual test until lab on Wed.), that's not bad, but I know I can do better.

This stuff is my specialty. If I had actually studied, I could have aced it no question... (was too busy freaking out over a chem test I had the next day)

So, now I'm studying. I've got a test on the next few sections in two weeks, and I've got a histology lab practical a week from Wed.

And because I like pictures... Here's a picture of one of the things I need to know... Skin:

Crayons

Last night I bought a box of Crayola crayons:

And I drew an elephant:
